Make
your auctions impossible to forget.
Have you ever possessed an insane desire to bid on an item...only to forget about revisiting it and bidding on it before time ends? You want to ensure this disaster does not happen to your bidders! Note only that, but there are some scripts you can include yourself to help you as the seller...as well as grab the attention of your bidder. Here they are! This suite of auction tools offers a free test for a "RemindMe" now service - you can include a button on your auctions that lets bidders set up a reminder for them to bid before the auction ends. This is a tool that will let you know how many people are watching your auctions. This free script will put a countdown timer on your auction page that runs until your auction is finished. It's a nice marketing idea. This free script will give your bidders a way to easily see other images that you have hosted on your own server. Wonder how much your model horse will cost when you finally do ship to a specific address? This free calculator will tell you that information based upon the parameters you enter. This calculator will tell you how much profit your auctions will make after you've taken into account future shipping costs. This neat calculator will ask for how much you've paid for an item, how much profit you want to make, and how much you'll charge for S/H. It will then tell you the price you need to obtain to get that profit. Free to try, this program will tell you just how much your total fees will be on a particular item sale. That takes care of common auction scripts. But did you know you can also include common javascripts to add some oomph and impact to your auctions? Visit http://javascript.internet.com/ and Devscripts . You can find free scripts for clocks, text effects, navigation parameters and more. Before you go bonkers over all of these goodies, however, remember the main goal of your auction...to sell your item! Sure, you might be able to put in bouncing text, but then ask yourself - what is the problem you're trying to solve? Keep your viewers focused upon the item itself - use any effects as a subtle enhancement. If at all possible, have the text effect happen only once to grab attention (run it in an infinite loop, and you then distract attention). Some cool text scripts you can include are: Text flies up to a predetermined point Have your headline fly into the page once your auction is opened Have a quick message appear, coming in from the left Scroll a killer sales message in yellow highlight from the left Isn't it grand how you can spiffy up your auctions to help remind your potential buyers to bid before it ends, or to grab their attention to specific key elements? Now it's time to talk about something that should be near and dear to your heart - your personal auction website. What's that, I hear you ask? Well, for starters, it's free, can help you gain high search engine visibility and also attract buyers to your auctions. Interested? Mosey on by the next chapter
